Library
Hooghly Mohsin College Library, the largest academic library of Hooghly district, observes 170th anniversary of its founding, can trace its beginning to an earlier time. It is considered as a leader among all academic library of West Bengal. It serves as an Information centre also. Its valuable collections can be considered as a golden treasury of Bengal’s culture.In addition to this the college has also got a separate Law Library for its law students.
Books
The library acquires books for collection by purchase and gift. It contains 1.5 million (approx) documents accumulating since the establishment of the college in 1836 which consists text books and treaties on humanities, social sciences, Sciences and commerce subjects including reference books like encyclopedias, dictionaries, year books, maps and atlases etc..
Periodicals
To cater current information and to satisfy need of the scholars and faculty members, the library subscribes 15 national and international journals like Current Science, New Scientist, International Studies, University News etc.
Rare books & Manuscripts
Library holds a valuable collection of old and rare documents viz, ‘Illustrated London News’, ‘Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society’, ‘Edinburgh Reviews’, 1st edition books of Rabindranath Tagore, Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, Nagendranath Basu, Haraprasad Shastri etc.
E-documents
In addition to books and periodicals, compact disk (CD-ROM) databases are also subscribed to fulfill the needs of the users of today and also to establish an e-library.

Computerization and Digitization
From 2000, all books are computerized. Retro conversion work is also going on side by side. Digitization of old and rare documents is being carried on under the ‘Digital Library of India Project’, Govt. of India.
